Hot stone massage in particular recharges energy levels, activates the energetic flow and re-energizes and re-balances the Chakra energy using volcanic stones. The direct heat from the stones penetrates deeply into the skin relaxing the muscles, allowing manipulation of a greater intensity.

The chakras are seven energy centres aligned along the spine. The chakras are thought to influence the body’s endocrine system and massage can help balance the energy patterns of these which is one aspect of encouraging healing. The flow of energy around the body is an important aspect to diagnosing and treating illness. Re-balancing the patterns of energy flow is part of Ayurvedic medicine and is widely used in India and other Eastern countries, where emphasis is placed on the balance of body, mind and spirit.

For body massage (and facial treatments) I bring a couch, towels, sheets and creams or oils, a hot stone heater and stones for hot stone massage and I bring a chair for Indian head massage - you just have to provide the space!
I can use either a luxurious massage sorbet, a light aromatic massage oil or grapeseed oil depending on your preference and which massage treatment you are having. Grapeseed oil is the best one to work with if you have any cosmetic allergies.
I will do a consultation prior to treatment to cover any possible contra-indications and medical conditions.
All treatments are carried out in the strictest confidence.
To get the best out of your massage treatment:
Jewellery should be removed before treatment and to save time if you want to change into a gown before I arrive please feel free to do so
Make sure the room is nice and warm for the treatment to be comfortable
Avoid eating a heavy meal before or straight after a massage
Try to turn off or mute phones/tablets etc so as not to be disturbed
Arrange an appointment which will enable you to continue the enjoyment of your relaxed state afterwards
Avoid showering immediately afterwards so as to gain the full benefit of the moisturizing properties of the oil or cream used if you have dry skin
Above all relax and enjoy, and don’t worry if you fall asleep!
